Indian cricket star Parvez to launch JCA's Jotun Saudi Cup event

JEDDAH — The Jeddah Cricket Association (JCA) will launch the Jotun Saudi Cup at a ceremony in Fine Grill Restaurant on Tuesday. Parvez Rasool, current Indian ODI & T20 cricketer, will be the chief guest on this occasion, with Khaled Almaeena, a cricket pioneer in Saudi Arabia, will attend as the special guest on this occasion.
Rasool will unveil, "The Jotun Saudi Cup 2017", JCA Executive Secretary Haroon Abdullah said. He said the sponsors for the morning league will be present on this occasion along with the other sponsors of JCA. Selected invitees from the sub-committee, journalists, one each JCA participating team members, umpires, scorers and other JCA officials only will attend this cup launching ceremony.
Jotun Saudi Arabia, who supports and sponsors sports events, and JCA events, has been the lead sponsor in the Jotun Saudi Cup 2017 morning league in which 22 teams are participating.
The teams are divided into two groups. This event will be played on a league-cum-knockout basis and it will last for 15 weeks. In Group-A, Makkah Eagles, Ittihad, UT Lines, Hyderabad Green, Pak Shaheen, Jamoom Tigers, Awan Cricket Club, Jamoom Fighters, Saudi Oil Co., Eared Travels, AEC-XI and in Group-B, Kashmir Stags, Makkah Kings, KAIA, Butt Sports, Al Burj, ARM United, Riyadh Foods, Pak Makkah, Naseem Al Zahra, Al Zafer Cricket Club and Kashmir Strikers.
Parvez Ghulam Rasool Zargar, born Feb. 13, 1989, in Bijbehara, Jammu and Kashmir, has participated in major cricket events, representing India-A, Jammu & Kashmir, Pune Warriors, Bangalore Royal Challengers, and Hyderabad Sunrisers. He is a right arm off break bowler and a right hand batsman and he made his ODI debut won June 15, 2014 against Bangladesh at Dhaka where he bowled 10 overs and took 2 for 60. His T20 debut was in Jan. 26, 2017 against England at Kanpur where he bowled 4 overs and took 1 for 32, the wicket of skipper E. Morgan.
His first class record are impressive: Batting Averages, he played 58 matches, 99 innings, 13 not out, 3,343 runs, 171 highest, eight centuries, 15 fifties at an average of 38.87. Bowling Averages are 58 matches, 91 innings, 156 wickets, best bowling performance was, 7/41, 5 wickets taken eight times at an average of 34.83.
