Air India marks International Women's Day with fervor

RIYADH — Air India Riyadh celebrated International Women's Day by recognizing and felicitating eminent ladies of Indian community here. The felicitation was organized at Red Onion restaurant.
Speaking on this occasion, eminent gynecologist Dr. Elizabeth Ima paid rich tributes to motherhood and stated that every new born utters the word ‘maa' when he steps into the world. She added, during her long career, she has never saw any new born calling father.
PBD awardee Zeenat Jafri paid rich tributes to all the working women's who silently contribute in their respectable fields. She recalled that lot of Indian women reached top position in corporate sector with their talent and hard work.
She gave of example of PEPSICO chief, the company being led by Indian lady Indira Nooyi while lauding other women who had reached top positions in various fields. She thanked Kundan Lal Gotwal of Air India for feting her on this occasion.
Asma Shah, principal girls section at International Indian School Riyadh, hailed Air India for conducting this function here where many women were feted at a single function for the first time.
Senior AGM Air India Kundan Lal welcomed the gathering and said that working women deserve high respect as they struggle at workplace as well as at home.
"Fulfilling both the responsibilities need a lot of dedication and effort and they should be respected for this, he said, adding that Air India always honored and encouraged women employees and ranked their service at high level.
On this occasion from the Indian Embassy Chief Guests Anil Nautiyal, first secretary, and Venkateswaran Narayan, first secretary, congratulated all women and said that were proud to have been this part of the function. They jointly presented Air India bags to all the Ladies who attended this function.
Architect Abdul Rahman Saleem, president, Hindustani Bazme Urdu, Dr. Abdulaziz Kuber (RISA), Dr. S.M. Shaukat Pervez, principal, IISR, Meraj Khan, principal, DPS, Dr. Bansal too congratulated the women and spoke on the occasion.
Maimoona Abbas, M.S. Shabana, Meera Rahman, Nayara Shoukat, Dr. Sanu Thomas, Jyothi Bala Krishnan, Dr. Shamli, Dr. Hasina, Dr. Kiran, Dr. Poonam Bansal Soji, Shakeela, Dr. Shahina, Dr. Joseph, Dr. Mohammed Ashraf Ali, Owais Ahmed, were also present.
Every year on March 8 marks the International Women's Day all around the globe. It is the celebration of the achievements of women in all aspects of society and civilization including social, cultural, economic and politics.
This year the theme for the International Women's Day is "Be Bold for Change" and encouraged women to be bolder stronger and more powerful in all the walks of Life.
Mrs. Mustafa Danish conducted the proceedings and Dr. Dilshad Ahamad proposed vote of thanks.
