RIYADH — Bollywood playback singer Mohammed Aslam mesmerized Riyadh music lovers with his melodious voice at the Aslam Show organized at the city outskirts by Young Talent Musical Group and supported by Hum Dus. Aslam started the night with a song from the film Dharmatma and after that he enthralled the goodly crowd with a medley of several old and news numbers of Bollywood films. More than 500 Indian community members and their families attended and enjoyed every bit of the show. Later local singers from Young Talent Musical Group Mirza Omer Baig, Syed Sayeed, Asif Singer, Mirza Asad Baig, Raheem Uppala, Rani and others too contributed to the night with a variety of old and latest film songs and entertained the audience. Mohammed Rafeeq, general manager of Mumtaz Group, conducted the proceedings and introduced Hum Dus to the audience. He said this association was launched by a group of friends promoting the Indian culture through conducting musical and awards shows. Hum Dus group members are Mohammed Rafeeq, president, Mohammed Farooqi Shabaz, Syed Mozam Ali, Mohammed Muzaffaruddin, Syed Mukaram Ali, Mumtaz Ali Akram, Omer Khunaizan, Shaik Ahmed Amodi, Mohammed Ather Ali. He said the aim of Hum Dus group is to provide pure entertainment to the Indian community and work for the upliftment of individuals. To boost the morale of people in diverse fields awards are to be presented by the group. Mohammed Aslam, a playback singer from south India, lends his voice in Tamil in Kollywood film industry and also in Hindi in the Bollywood film industry, and he is also famous for his stage performances. He has performed on stage across India and Gulf countries. Aslam has earned international acclaim with over 2,000 stage shows to his credit. He was also a part of A.R. Rahman's recent world tour, which included the innovative 3D live musical concerts. Mohammed Aslam made his debut in playback singing in Supergood Films' ‘Naattamai' with ‘Naan Oravukaaran.' He worked with Rahman in hit films like Rang De Basanti, Jodha Akbar, and Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na. Kundan Lal, manager, Air India who attended the community function for the first time, promised that Air India would provide more facilities to the passengers traveling through connecting flight. He said he is trying to shift the time from Riyadh to Mumbai so that the passenger traveling to Hyderabad would have less halt in Mumbai and reach Hyderabad within 7 hours from Riyadh. He also thanked the group for honoring him and expressed his happiness on excellent arrangements by the group. He termed Hum Dus as unity among the community. On this occasion Hum Dus presented bouquets to the community leaders, principal of DPS, and the International Indian School Riyadh managing committee members and award for the best writer and poet to Amrina Quaiser from Jeddah and Kundan Lal. Hum Dus and Young Talent Musical Group presented a memento to singer Mohammed Aslam. Mohammed Fazal anchored the show. Syed Mozam Ali gave the vote of thanks.
