JEDDAH — ‘BD doctors in KSA' — a social group of Bangladeshi doctors living in the Kingdom, organized a family gathering recently. A large number of Bangladeshi doctors from all over the Kingdom gathered in a resort here. Around 300 doctors and their families participated in the event in which Bangladesh Ambassador Golam Moshi was the chief guest. The national anthem of Bangladesh was played at the start followed by a brief introductory session conducted by Dr. Azad Hossain and Dr. Kamrul Ahsan. The envoy expressed his continuous support to the community and praised the doctors for their contribution in this holy land of Saudi Arabia. The members/doctors of the group thanked the ambassador for his support to the people of Bangladesh. They hoped that under Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman's leadership the health sector in Saudi Arabia would be an example to the world. Moshi later inaugurated the souvenir of "BD doctors in KSA" with the credentials directory; which is first of its kind for any professional community in the Kingdom. The Jeddah Organizing Committee chief and the deputy chief, Dr. Samiul Haque and Dr. Yousuf Bhuiyan respectively handed over the souvenir to the ambassador. Moshi also launched the web portal of this social group, created by Dr. Mohammad Shahabuddin; a first portal by a Bangladeshi doctors community. The event comprised of sports for adults and children, a cultural program depicting the heritage of Bangladesh and children's participation in other entertaining events. The group had a discussion on their upcoming activities with the active participation of the members. The group intends to look after the welfare of Bangladeshi doctors' community and pledged to work for the community and hold needful activities, like blood donation program, free clinics and some joint works and building bondage with the Saudi Doctors Societies. ‘BD doctors in KSA' is a social group of Bangladeshi doctors founded by Dr. Abdullah Miah; a family physician from Tabuk and co-administered by Dr. Mushabbir Hossain, an internist from Madinah. Mediacom International LLC has sponsored BD doctors in KSA event. It also provided a home theater sound system for raffle draw as second prize. Mediacom's representative Akther Hossain Liton, Jeddah branch manager, participated in this event.
