‘DaVita Medical Affairs Summit' tackles future of Saudi healthcare

The DaVita Medical Affairs Summit, held in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, concluded Wednesday (March 8) in Riyadh.
Administrators, doctors, healthcare professionals and businessmen in related fields participated in the two-day summit.
DaVita Medical Affairs Summit was aimed at discussing the implementation plan of medical studies, where many doctors and consultants from all over the world have devoted their time to the medical researches. These researches are dedicated for the future of healthcare in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Furthermore, privatization concept and it effective role for the development of the private sector and employment creation were also tackled.
Dr. Abdulkareem Alsuwaida, DaVita's Chief Medical Officer for Saudi Arabia, said: "We are thrilled to be hosting two days of education and scientific exchange that addresses key issues to achieving Vision 2030 and advancing kidney care in the Kingdom." He added: "The ultimate aim of sharing our knowledge, best practices and innovations is to help improve patients' quality of life in the Kingdom – a goal we all share."
The total number of patients infected with kidney failure in Saudi Arabia has reached about 18,000 at the end of 2016. Against this backdrop, many medical studies were discussed with professional consultant for chronic disease, especially chronic kidney disease (CKD), seeking the implementation of future healthcare in Saudi Arabia. These medical studies highlight healthcare services provided to patients who are infected with kidney disease for creating integrated treatments to rise the quality of patients' life.
To date, DaVita has delivered life-saving dialysis treatments to over 1,500 patients at 14 clinics in urban and remote areas of Saudi Arabia as part of a Ministry of Health program created to deliver the highest-quality kidney care to patients.
