DaVita Kidney Care, a division of DaVita Inc. and a leading global provider of kidney care services, has announced that its new dialysis clinic in Jazan is fully operational. The Jazan clinic is DaVita's second clinic in the southern region of Saudi Arabia to be opened this year, providing the region with greater access to high-quality kidney care. Saudi Minister of Health Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah officially opened the clinic. The Jazan clinic will be able to provide dialysis services to 120 patients who have end stage renal disease. "DaVita is focused on increasing access to kidney care and making sure Saudis are aware they have kidney disease," said Dr. Abdul Kareem Alsuwaida, chief medical officer, DaVita, Saudi Arabia. "Over 90 percent of Saudis with kidney disease don't know they have it." To help spread awareness of kidney disease, DaVita has launched a 60-second online risk quiz on davita.com/sa/kidneyaware that allows the Saudi population to know their risk from the comfort of their home. They can also find kidney disease education, kidney-friendly recipes and other resources on the site as well. To date, DaVita has delivered life-saving dialysis treatments to over 1,300 patients at 13 clinics in urban and remote areas of Saudi as part of a Ministry of Health program created to deliver the highest-quality kidney care and patient experience. DaVita continues to improve clinical outcomes and achieve high rates of patient satisfaction from its patients under the guidance of the Ministry of Health. — SG
