JEDDAH — F.M. Borhan Uddin has taken over as the new Consul General of Bangladesh Consulate General, here recently. A career diplomat, Borhan Uddin started his career as an assistant secretary in the Ministry of foreign Affairs in Bangladesh. In the same year subsequently, he served as senior assistant secretary and director in different wings of the Ministary of Foreign Affairs. He served in the Bangladesh missions abroad in dfferent capacities third /second Secretary, Bangladesh Embassy in Cairo, Egypt. First secretary/vice consul, Consulate General in Dubai, UAE, first secretary, Bangladesh Embassy in Seoul, South Korea, Counselor/Minister, Bangladesh High Commission in Colombo, Sri Lanka, and Consul General Bangladesh Consulate General in Istanbul before assuming office in Jeddah. He graduated from the University of Dhaka BSS Hon in Sociology and did his Masters MSS in Sociology from the same University. Later, he graduated in law (LLB Hon) from the University of London. He was born in the district of Khulna. Borhan Uddin is married to Mrs. Sabrina Nahreen and blessed with two children (daughter and son).
