Two women died and two others were injured in a fire at a residential building in Batha Quraish district in Makkah on Sunday. Maj. Naif Al-Sharif, spokesman of the Civil Defense Department in Makkah, said that the fire broke out in a room that contained clothes, washing machine and a sponge bed on the second floor of a four-story building, the Saudi Press Agency reported. The Civil Defense fire fighters rushed to the scene and extinguished the fire. All the residents in the building were evacuated. The dead include a 70-year-old woman and a 21-year-old woman while two other women sustained injuries, he added.
