K for Kishore proves a musical enthraller

RIYADH — Young Talent Group paid rich musical tribute to the legendary Bollywood Singer Kishore Kumar with an enthralling event organized by Mirza Junnu Baig and Abdul Quddus Darood.
Musical event K for Kishore was held in Nofa Convention Center in the outskirts of Riyadh last weekend in which eminent singers of the Jeddah and Riyadh enthralled the audience with melodies of Kishore.
Mirza Omer Baig and the guest singer from Jeddah Asha Shiju sang duets of Kishore Kumar numbers and the audience appreciated the duo for the lyrical perfection. Omar sang "Mai Hun Ghoda Yeh Hai Gadi" from film Kunwara Baap (1974), "Aaj Rapat Jaye" from Namak Halal and "Pardesiya Yeh Sach Hai Piya" from Natwarlal and it proved a big hit.
Singers Alex, Syed Sayeed, Mohammed Asif Ali, Sajid Jaleel also paid tribute to Kishore Kumar with their musical rendering.
Shiju, conferred with a prestigious award for her excellent performance and presentation of songs, drew heavy applause as she rocked the auditorium with her song "Laila O Laila". The award was presented to her by one of the sponsor Mohammed Moin Qureshi.
On this occasion President Telangana NRI Forum Abdul Jabbar announced the induction of businessman Mohammed Ateeq (Garden Tea Point) as cultural president of the forum for Riyadh chapter.
Mohammed Ateeq thanked TNRIF for this honor and announced that a grand musical and comedy event will be held in Riyadh soon and prominent artists from Hyderabad will be invited to perform.
On this occasion eminent community leaders were felicitated and recognized for their welfare and social services to the Indian community. Mohammed Rafeeq, CEO Mumtaz Group, Syed Mozam Ali, patron, Golden Telangana Welfare Association, Mohammed Farooqui Shabaz, general secretary OUAAR, Muzafferuddin (MUJJU) CEO Rida Hotels, Mohammed Abdul Jabbar, president, TNRIF, Mir Mohsin Ali, Prominent NRI Syed Sajid Ali, Businessman Syed Waheeduddin and Azmath Qureshi were honored.
Syed Waheeduddin and Mohammed Ateeq presented flower bouquets and traditional shawls to singer Asha Shiju, Mohammed Moin Qureshi, Moahmmed Asif Ali, Alex, Omar Baig, Syed Sayeed, Sajid Jaleel and hotelier Chand. Abdul Quddus Darood, from Mega Vision presented memento to Ateeq.
Taher Bin Jaffer, president, GTWA conducted the proceedings. Ateeq, Waheeduddin and Moin Qureshi sponsored this event.
Mirza Junnu Baig and Abdul Quddus Darood proposed vote of thanks. A large number from the Indian community were present at the event, which went on till the early hours.
