Alwaleed Philanthropies awards Saudi equestrians
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 09 - 01 - 2017

As part of its commitment to empowering youth, Alwaleed Philanthropies (AP), chaired by Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal, awarded Saudi equestrians with 17 cars, 10 of them to be distributed among different riding arenas in the Kingdom, and 7 to high achieving equestrians in endurance competitions.
Alwaleed Philanthropies has begun distributing the cars during the award ceremony conducted by Prince Abdullah Bin Fahad, president of the Saudi Arabian Equestrian Federation, and chairman of the Arabian Equestrian Federation, at the headquarters of Prince Faisal's Olympic Complex on Dec. 28, 2016. The endurance committee drew the winning names of competing equestrians, and also ensured the delivery of AP awards to both Saleh Al-Sultan and Mohammad Mushajara, winners at the Crown Prince Endurance Race.
For each riding arena in the Kingdom, 10 cars are being awarded to the following: Janadriah, Al-Majmaah, Hail, Al-Ahsa, Al-Khafji, Al-Qassim, Al-Jubail, Jeddah, Najran and Zulfi. In addition, 7 cars will be granted to the winners in the Saudi Founder Endurance Race, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Endurance Race, and the Crown Prince Endurance Race. The awards are granted to Saudi equestrians after the completion of the race and medical check, in order to qualify for the Saudi Equestrian Federation's final selection.
"There has been a rapid increase in the number of registering competitors thanks to Alwaleed Philanthropies' encouraging awards to Saudi youth equestrians. We noticed that the equestrians in the Crown Prince Race were especially keen on completing the race," stated Najeeb Al-Barjas, AP's equestrian team manager.
For over 37 years, AP has supported and initiated projects in about 124 countries regardless of gender, race, or religion. We collaborate with a range of philanthropic, government, and educational organizations to combat poverty, empower women and youth, develop communities, provide disaster relief and create cultural understanding through education. Together, we can build bridges for a more compassionate, tolerant, and accepting world. — SG
