Marking the one-year anniversary of its "Housing and Car Grants" project, Alwaleed Philanthropies (AP), chaired by Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal, is delivering the 6th installment of housing units and cars to 1,697 beneficiaries. The grants are part of the foundation's Housing and Cars project, which aims to provide 10,000 housing units and 10,000 cars to Saudi citizens throughout the Kingdom over the duration of 10 years. The foundation seeks to improve the living standards of Saudi citizens through various community development projects. The "Housing and Car Grants" project is one of its largest initiatives and targets eligible Saudi citizens, based on criteria set by Alwaleed Philanthropies which are available on its website (http://alwaleedphilanthropies.org/apply-grant). Coinciding with the occasion of Eid Al Fitr, Alwaleed Philanthropies is distributing 249 housing units and 249 cars to beneficiaries who are not eligible for aid provided by the Ministry of Housing. So far, 5,283 Saudi men and women benefited from the grants. "In line with Prince Alwaleed's vision that all families have the right to a decent life, Alwaleed Philanthropies is delighted to be making this donation," said Princess Lamia Bint Majed Al Saud. "We aspire to change the lives of many families in the Kingdom for the better, giving them hope for a better future and instilling Eid Al Fitr with even more love and joy". The "Housing and Car Grants" project will help beneficiaries increase their savings and extra disposable income. Rent is a large burden that weighs heavily on a family's budget, especially considering that many families in the Kingdom are young. This extra income can make a real difference towards improving their lives. For over 35 years, Alwaleed Philanthropies has supported and initiated projects in over 120 countries regardless of gender, race, or religion. We collaborate with a range of philanthropic, government, and educational organizations to combat poverty, empower women and youth, develop communities, provide disaster relief and create cultural understanding through education. Together, we can build bridges for a more compassionate, tolerant, and accepting world.
