JEDDAH — Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Group will sponsor Jeddah Cricket Association (JCA) tournament, titled as Kanoo Premier League. This was announced recently after the sponsorship agreement was signed between Kanoo and JCA. The check for the sponsorship fees was handed over by Area Manager Sheikh Ahmed Fawzi Kanoo to JCA CEO Muhammad Iqbal at the Kanoo office in Jeddah in the presence of JCA's Vice President Hamid Rana and Executive Secretary Ahmed Bin Mahfooz and Kanoo's Sultan Al-Yazeedi, executive marketing & public relation manager. This will be the 23rd year that Kanoo is sponsoring the tournament as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility. Kanoo cricket team was also part of JCA leagues till 2013 and has been the recipient over 50 trophies in the past 25 years. Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Group, a 126-year-old business conglomerate, is one of the largest independent family owned business having diversified interest in shipping, travel & tourism, machinery, power generation and energy services, oil and gas, logistics and freight forwarding, specialty chemicals and retail and commercial activities with its head office in Bahrain and business spread over UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman and Qatar. Iqbal thanked Ahmed Kanoo and the management for their continuous support to JCA activities. JCA has decided to distribute T-shirts and caps with Kanoo name for this year's league to all participating teams. Ahmed Kanoo appreciated the activities of JCA and promised Kanoo's continuous support in future also. He also conveyed Khalid Kanoo's keenness in JCA. The Kanoo Premier League matches will be played over a period of 3 months, with 13 teams competing each other on a league-cum-knockout basis to decide the winner and runner-up.
