JEDDAH — The Consulate General of Oman hosted a reception at Crown Plaza Hotel on Sunday to commemorate the country's 46th National Day. Consul General Jumaah Al-Rashdy and the consulate staff received Jamal Abu Al-Khoyour, deputy director general and director of protocol department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Makkah Region branch, and other guests. The speakers at the event congratulated Sultan Qaboos Bin Said, the Omani government and people on the occasion. The Omani officials expressed their thanks and appreciation to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Naif and Deputy Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman and the government of Saudi Arabia, especially the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, for the constant support given to the consulate. During the ceremony, the guests, who included Saudi dignitaries, senior government officials, diplomats, media representatives and officials of international and regional organizations, had a chance to view Omani heritage products displayed at a dedicated booth. The ceremony began with the Omani and Saudi national anthems. Consul General Al-Rashdy with Jamal Abu Al-Khoyour and other diplomats cut the celebration cake. The guests also had a chance to listen to Omani patriotic songs and taste the famous Omani halwa. The Oman government is paying great attention to the country's development, including tourism. Oman Air offered tickets to winners of a raffle draw to visit touristic destinations in the country.
