Okaz/Saudi Gazette MADINAH — The Chamber of Commerce and Industry denied as rumors reports of hosting Abu Sin in its event. Madinah Chamber of Commerce and Industry General Secretary Abdulhalim Lal said there was a poster distributed showing the picture of the young man who was arrested for indecent behavior on the Internet, Abu Sin, with text indicating that the chamber has invited him to an event it is holding. "The poster even used the chamber's logo. The chamber will not host Abu Sin and it has not issued such a poster. The chamber considers the poster a defamation of its reputation and will be investigating it to track down the person behind the poster. The chamber plans to take legal action to defend its reputation," said Lal. He added the people or person who issued the poster had the malicious intent to defame the chamber. "We do not have any information on who could be the source of the poster. The chamber does not hold entertainment shows. The chamber's events are exclusive to exhibitions, conferences and forums," said Lal. He added the poster stated that a company organizing the 38th Consumer Industry Festival had contracted with Abu Sin to be the entertainer this coming Thursday and Friday. "The poster also stated that each night will cost SR25,000 and the attendees will be able to get Abu Sin's signature at the end of the performance. The chamber will not be holding any events this weekend. Even the dates put on the poster are misleading," said Lal. Madinah Chamber of Commerce and Industry Event Organizer Maher Sanyor said the 38th Consumer Industry Festival ended last month. "The next upcoming event is the Family and Child Exhibition. The poster states that there will be an event this weekend. That is not true as the chamber has not contracted with any company to hold any events for the rest of this month," said Sanyor. He added spreading rumors via social media is an electronic crime. "The poster was trending on Twitter. All of the parties that were linked to the poster denied their approval of such a poster," said Sanyor.
