Al Borg offers preventive medical tests packages
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 10 - 10 - 2016

DISEASE prevention plays a big role in helping people enjoy a better and healthier life. And with today's considerable advancements in the medical field, disease prevention reaches completely new heights: people can have full, preventive tests that enable them to identify potential health risks that could help them better control the overbearing results of underlying genetic and contracted diseases, degenerative illnesses and micro-nutrient deficiencies. As such, people have a considerably improved chance at enjoying a better quality of life.
Currently, similar medical tests are made available to the public across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through Al Borg Medical Laboratories, which offer highly beneficial "Sehaty Blue Print" packages that enable patients to take charge of their health and wellness, while increasing health awareness.
The "Blue Print" packages were designed by Quest Diagnostics of USA, the world's leading diagnostic information and services provider, who first introduced them in North America under the name of "Blue Print for Wellness". In the past years, Al Borg Medical Laboratories was able to get an exclusive license to offer these packages in the entire GCC region.
Dr. Sameh Al Sheikh, the CEO of Al Borg Medical Laboratories, described the "Sehaty Blue Print" tests as a "real achievement that constitutes the beginning for other breakthroughs to come at the level of health awareness", affirming that Al Borg Medical Laboratories "have a responsibility towards the Saudi society in terms of preventing diseases and promoting good health through ongoing cooperation agreements with global laboratories that put the latest technologies at the service of human health".
The "Sehaty Blue Print" findings are based on blood tests and biometric data collected from every patient such as their gender, height, weight, age, blood pressure and Body Mass Index (BMI). Every patient will also get their different organs examined, such as the heart, the pancreas, kidneys, and the liver. Once all tests are performed, Al Borg Laboratories will send the results electronically to Quest Laboratories to be assessed through advanced electronic systems and sent back in a form of a report in merely 10 minutes.
Every patient will then be provided with a unique, easy-to-read, and elaborative report explaining the significance of each test in Arabic for the first time, with the possibility of having it in English as well. The report includes blood profiling and valuable insights on different health risks including thyroid and micro-nutrients deficiency, in addition to specific insights on the patient's nutritional health, and comes with a detachable summary report for physicians at the end.
Dr. Hesham Shams, Medical Director of Al Borg Medical Laboratories, said: "In addition to offering individuals a comprehensive report on their current health status, the "Sehaty Blue Print" packages can provide a plan for improving their future health by suggesting proactive measures to prevent possible disease or deficiency deterioration. When used based on repeat packages, the report will also show trends of health risks.
Therefore, these packages are truly remarkable as they can tangibly motivate people to seek a physician's opinion, start a fitness regimen and adopt a healthier diet which put them on the right way to making fundamental lifestyle changes towards a happier life."
The "Sehaty Blue Print" packages are currently available for individuals aged 18 and above, among men and women, with plans to include all age categories in the near future.
