JEDDAH — Urdu Gulban.com organized a poetic evening for Pakistani poet Anwar Ansari, who is working as an artist with Urdu News. He has recently returned from Pakistan after a successful open-heart surgery. Ansari is very popular among Urdu lovers in Jeddah. Urdu Gulban.com, a literary society, organized a Mushairah, at the residence of Amin Najmi in his honor. Many representatives of the literary forums and Urdu lovers participated in this program. The program began with the recitation of a few verses of the Holy Qur'an by Hafiz Khalid Kidwai. The Naat was recited by Amin Ansari. Syed Naim Hamid Al-Hamid chaired the event. In his speech he prayed for good health of Anwar Ansari and thanked the poets and organizers of the evening for their efforts in promoting Urdu language and poetry in the Kingdom. Nasir Barni, a leading Indian poet from Jeddah (who is presently living at Yanbu) was the master of the event. Taiyyab Azad Sherkoti, a stalwart of the Indian Mushairahs and who was in the Kingdom to perform Haj, was the chief guest of the event. Taj Muztar, also a famous Indian poet was the guest of honor. Mona Najmi, daughter of Amin Najmi is a famous poetess who sent her Ghazals from Pakistan to be recited by her father Amin Najmi in this poetic evening. Along with the guest poets, the poets from Jeddah, Makkah and Bahrah who made this evening a success were Naim Hamid Ali, Taiyyab Azad, Taj Muztar, Abdul Rahim Shad Bijnori, Nasir Barni, Anwar Ansari, Shahzad Azam, Afsar Barabankwi, Irfan Barabankwi, Faisal Tufail, Farhatullah Khan, Kamran Khan, Iqbal Belan, Mohsin Alwi, Yunus Almas, Mahtab Qadr, Mujahid Syed, Naim Bazidpuri.
