JEDDAH — Urdu Gulban.comGulban.com organized a poetic evening to felicitate poets Abdul Wahab Jazb Aurangabadi from India and Hayat Rizvi Amrohvi from Pakistan. The presence of a large number of Pakistani and Indian poets and poetry lovers made the event a huge success. The function, at the residence of noted socialite Hassan Bayazeed in the Aziziyyah neighborhood, was presided over by Syed Naeem Hamid Al-Hamid. The master of the event was poet and founder of Urdu Gulban.com Mahtab Qadr. Many poets, including those from Makkah and Bahrah, participated in the Mushairah. However, Aurangabadi was unable to make it to the program due to health problems. Shahzad Ahmad, Altaf Shahr Yar, Kamran Khan (Makkah), Afsar Barabankwi, Abdur Rahim Shad Bijnori (Bahrah), Belan Nizamabadi, Faisal Tufail, Irfan Barabankwi, Mahtab Qadr, Anwar Ansari, Nasir Barni, Athar Abbasi (President of Aalami Urdu Markaz, Jeddah), Mujahid Syed and Nayeem Bazidpuri read their poems. Amrohvi, the chief guest of the evening, remembered old friends during his stay in Jeddah: Ratjage hain, mahfilen hain aur nawa koi nahin Raat bhar ki mahfilen hain aur sada koi nahin Dil ke muamelat hain dil ke muamelat Dil ke muamelat ko ruswa na kijiye The program began with the recitation of the Holy Qura'n by Javed Azmi. Athar Nadir Asloobi recited a Naat of his father Nadir Asloobi. He also read a satirical piece to the audience. The Mushairah was followed by a sumptuous dinner.
