The supreme court has approved a decision issued by the court of appeals one year ago sentencing a man death for the murder of a male nurse 8 years ago at King Abdul Aziz hospital in Makkah. The supreme court recommended the execution be carried out as soon as possible and not to wait for the children of the victim to reach legal age. The sentencing, however, was postponed for a month in an effort by some to have the killer pardoned. The man's lawyer said that his client is suffering from psychological problems and is not responsible for his actions. The medical committee examined the man and ruled that he was sane and aware of his actions. The man stormed the hospital eight years ago with a machine gun and fired gunshots, killing the male nurse.
