The Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) has urged companies to participate in the Okaz Annual Saudi Labor Award competition, which is organized by Okaz Organization for Press and Publication. This is the third consecutive year the award has been running. It is being held under the auspices of Engineer Adel Fakieh, Minister of Labor. The award is to honor outstanding Saudi employees and the companies they work for, according to certain set criteria. The award is meant to encourage Saudization. Dr. Waleed Jameel Kattan, Director General of Okaz Organization for Press and Publication, said the award's committee has already listed the names of the nominated companies and individuals in the private sector. The judges panel includes academics and experts in media and law. He said individuals and companies nominated must show great levels of productivity. Eligible companies must have at least 40 percent Saudization and should not have less than 50 employees. All individuals nominated must have worked in their jobs for at least one year.
