The municipality demolished 18 unlicensed slaughterhouses and 28 unlicensed barns during Eid. Jeddah Al-Janoob Municipality director, Mohammad Al-Zahrani, said the municipality organized an inspection campaign during Eid to target and remove unlicensed establishments. The unlicensed establishments were all located in Al-Kharma Governorate. The municipality also removed all waste from the area to improve its appearance and ensure the health of local residents. 77 workers without health certificates MADINAH — Health Affairs reported 77 workers of restaurants found not to have required health certificates. Madinah Health Affairs Public Health assistant director, Ayman Al-Yunbuawi, said the directorate organized an inspection campaign and visited over 1,000 establishments. The campaign took over 4,000 food samples to inspect for bacteria, and discovered almost 600 samples contained harmful bacteria. The campaign also checked the health certificates of over 3,000 workers in fast food restaurants and found 77 did not have a health certificate. The campaign also checked the state of cisterns in restaurants and inspected a total of 912 cisterns. Over 800 water samples were taken to check for contamination and 275 chemical samples, uncovering multiple contaminations. The campaign also seized 60 water tanks for violating health regulations. The campaign conducted 30 inspection visits to kitchens in the city and two inspection visits to public health stores on the road to and from Makkah and the road to and from Madinah. 1,000 amphetamine pills seized TABUK — Custom Control seized 1,000 amphetamine pills in a foiled smuggling attempt. TabukHaql Custom Control director, Mohammad Al-Aboush, said the Custom Control officers stopped and inspected a man coming into the Kingdom through Haql governorate from Al-Durra Exit. The officers found a bag of amphetamine pills hidden in the man's underwear. The amphetamine pills were seized and the man was arrested. Five men arrested for theft JEDDAH — The police arrested five Arab men on charges of multiple thefts. Makkah Police spokesman, Col. Ati Al-Qurashi, said the police received several reports of robberies from large commercial companies. The police investigated the reported cases and tracked down the thieves, arresting five Arab men who were involved in the robberies. 20,000 pills found in pillow TABUK — A total of 20,000 amphetamine pills stuffed inside a pillow were seized. Anti-Drugs Directorate reported the inspectors found a pillow lying in an open area. After inspecting it the inspectors found 20,000 amphetamine pills hidden inside. The inspectors were able to find the smugglers and arrest them.
