A delegation from SkyTeam, the global airline alliance, recently paid a visit to Saudi Arabian Airlines. The delegation met with Captain Sultan Bin Mandeel Al-Dhuwaihi, acting president of Saudi Arabian Airlines Company for Air Transport, aside from a number of Saudia executives. During the meeting, they discussed a number of subjects related to expanding trade exchange opportunities between the alliance members based on the principle of ‘joint symbol'. The delegation also paid visits to a number of facilities for Prince Sultan Academy for Aviation Sciences and Saudia Academy for Air Services. This comes within the sphere of boosting the partnership between Saudia and the global airline alliance, which the former joined in late May 2012. It contributed to expanding the stations network that flights can reach via connection flights with the alliance members, reaching 20 airlines in various continents of the world. This is apart from the distinctive services provided to passengers via the alliance's terminals in various countries of the world. During the meeting, they also discussed Saudia's operation performance within the alliance. Saudia is witnessing tremendous development with several new aircraft joining service. The meeting also discussed trade cooperation between Saudia and the two alliance members – Air France and the American Delta Airlines. The participants in the meeting decided to hold a tripartite meeting at the end of September in Amsterdam, the alliance headquarters. They also reviewed the SV2020 plan.
