Ahmeduddin Owaisi asks NRIs to back AIMIM in UP
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 08 - 09 - 2016

RIYADH — Bazme Ittehad Saudi Arabia President Ahmeduddin Owaisi claimed that the All India Majlis-e-Ittehad ul Muslimeen (AIMIM) is ready to contest next legislative assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, and he appealed to the people of Uttar Pradesh to back AIMIM. He made this statement while addressing a meeting organized by Bazme Ittehad Riyadh (BIR) at Niagara Restaurant.
The first public meeting in Uttar Pradesh witnessed thousands of people gathering to listen to its leaders, reflecting the attachment of Muslim community towards AIMIM, he said. Owaisi added AIMIM is the only political party that raises many issues in parliament and legislative assembly and AIMIM member of parliament Asaduddin Owaisi has displayed his skills in debates and is well known leader among masses.
Owaisi praised AIMIM for doing humanitarian work and for spending millions of rupees to uplift the Muslim community. He said Akbaruddin Owaisi established an educational trust that runs many schools and vocational training for women. He elaborated on the services of AIMIM since its formation.
Founder of Bazme Ittehad in Riyadh Abdul Rahman Saleem, who has been assocated with AIMIM for four decades, also spoke on the occasion and expressed similar sentiments in calling people to back AIMIM. He said, "AIMIM, Asaduddin and Akbaruddin Owaisi are doing tremendous work for the upliftment of the Muslim community. AIMIM by virtue of their work and representation in Telangana and Maharashtra have made their presence felt in those assemblies even though they are few but they are a voice for the minorities and Dalits whereas large number of Muslim legislative assembly members from SP and BSP have not done what is required from them."
Mohammed Rafeeq, vice president BIR, welcomed the gathering. Mohammed Farooqui Shabaz, general secretary, conducted the proceedings and proposed the vote of thanks. Master Abdul Aziz recited the verses of the Holy Qur'an at the start. A large number of Indians attended the function.
