[gallery size="full" td_select_gallery_slide="slide" ids="80296,80297,80307,80308,80309,80310,80311"]Saudi Gazette report International Indian School Alumni Association (IISJAA) hosted the 70th Indian Independence Day exclusively for their Ladies Members at the Village Restaurant on 18th August 2016. The event was organized by Rayeesa Fatima, the Joint Secretary and Sabah Noureen, the Executive Committee Member and was attended by over 145 women and children. The chief guest for the evening was Mrs. Siddiqui Nusrath (Head Mistress IISJ) who was welcomed by flowers by Hafsa Zubair. The celebration was a compilation of various ethnic Indian dances, kids parade, makeover competition, interactive quizzes and performance of patriotic songs. The evening kicked off with a welcome speech by Rayeesa Fatima. She recounted the great sacrifices and struggles made for India's freedom and prosperity. Two alumni of IISJ - Ayesha Sameera and Amtul Farooqui kept the audience captivated in an interactive session during the latter part of the show. A glimpse of Indian Culture was showcased through various ethnic dances performed by three dance troupes- D3's, Fusionista and Gold Dusters with impressive performances. Another highlight of the evening was a solo performance by Nada Muneer who paid tribute to Women Empowerment. There was also "Battle of the Brushes", organized by Athiya Zubair with a makeover competition between the three makeup artists Faizunnisa, Fakhia Arif and Fathima Rashid. Hiba Kaleem had kids participate in a parade segment, where they showcased the most influential Indians. Participants included Sidhra Kausar, Safa Kausar, Syed Zain Ul Abiden, Syeda Khadija Fatima, Ibrahim Sabir, Khaja Farhanul Hasan and Aliza Imran. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by the IISJAA EXCOM member Sabah Noureen where she recalled all the hard work put in making this event a success and appreciated the coming together of the ladies. The Finale also included the honoring of all the participants and volunteers for their contribution including Mrs. Salma Siddiqui and Mrs. Zahra Imran who were awarded appreciation certificates followed by Indian national Anthem sung by the kids.
