Published in The Saudi Gazette on 13 - 07 - 2016

Over 650 IISJ Alumni gathered at IISJ boys section recently to form the new International Indian School Jeddah's Alumni Association (IISJAA) Executive Committee. The new body of 9 members consisting of 7 males and 2 females were fairly selected from 17 candidates.
The new committee, which will serve for a two-year term, will be led by Suhail Mehdi, who has been selected as President. "I am excited to be a part of IISJAA, and I would like to hone the proliferation of our alumni, support them as they grow their careers and seek ways to stay connected with the alma mater and each other," said Suhail.
The other members in the committee includes Syed Maqdoom Ali, who will serve as the Vice President, Muzammil Hashmi, as the general secretary, and Nabeel Shaikh as the treasurer. The position for Joint Secretary will be shared amongst the ladies — Rayeesa Fatima, who will serve for the year 2016-17, and Sabah Noureen, for the year 2017-18. Other executive members include Mohammed Ameen Uz Zaman, Atif Khan and Zubair Siddiqui.
The IISJAA was officially launched in 2011 by the then ambassador of India to Saudi Arabia Talmiz Ahmed. It was earlier working under the banner of EXISS. The present members engaged in this association are around 4,500 and hail from different walks of life. Its mission as stated in its website is to reach out to all their alumni and invite them to collaborate under one banner.
Starting from its launch, IISJAA has organized various programs and events, which were well received by its members. The new body would like to reinstate the flagship activities such as reunions/food drives as well as to bring new initiatives such as fee sponsorship program and professional networking website.
