RIYADH — With the Indian state of Bihar, in the midst of natural disaster following havoc wreaked by floods, Indian expatriates gathered at Mezbaan Restaurant here last week to discuss how best to help the flood victims. Various organizations, led by Bihar Anjuman, are working together to provide essential relief to those affected by the severe flooding. The worst flooding in more than a century continues to devastate the region of Seemanchal area of Bihar, where many people are confirmed dead, thousands are homeless, millions worth of property and infrastructure were destroyed when floods hit these areas of Seemanchal, Katihar, Kishan Ganj, Purnea, Supoul, Araria and Forbes Ganj . The event was organized by Bihar Anjuman under the theme "support flood victims'. The representatives of many social organizations here, such as Ahsas, Biswas, MWS, Hira Educational Trust, Bihar Anjuman, Jamiaya group, Islamic Cultural Centre and many social workers took part and initiated plans and programs to help the flood victims. Many social activists and various organizations highlighted the problems and the necessity of alleviating the suffering people and urged all to support and help the families who were severely affected in the flood areas. A coordination crisis committee has been formed among all organizations, who will be coordinating and facilitating this initiative and is planning to support and help through medical, food and shelter options as much as possible.
