RCA to begin season with Champions League

RIYADH — Riyadh Cricket Association (RCA) has announced to commence its cricket season 2016-17 with RCA Champions League II. This is the 2nd edition of the event, which received immense popularity last year.
The tourney was announced in RCA's full executive committee meeting which was chaired by CEO Mohammad Nadeem Babar and was attended by Sr. Vice President Abdul Kareem Khan, General Secretary Nasir Abbasi, Upol Zareef, Samiullah Baltistani, Mohammad Akram and Rustam Ali. This event will be organized in collaboration with Cricket Saudi International Academy. Color kits, specifically designed for the event, will be used for the championship. Dirab Lions will defend the title.
Six teams, comprising top players from RCA registered clubs, under the names of Al-Kharj Kings, Huraymala Gladiators, Hayer Tigers, Diriyah Dolphins, Dirab Lions and Al-Majma'ah United.
RCA executive committee also announced the squads:
Al-Kharj Kings — Mohammed Nadeem Babar (captain), Waseem Riaz, Munawar Shafi, Khurram Baig, Abuzar Khan, Imran Ahmed, Bilal Wani, Safdar, Mohsin Rasool, Qaiser Naseer, Ayaz Khaja, Nouman, Ghulam, Imran Younous and Syed Rizwan. Huraymala Gladiators — Samiullah Baltistani (captain), Abdul Waheed, Abdul Qadir, Ateeq Ahmed, Iftikhar Chitto, Mohammed Saeed, Rustam Ali, Zahid Mahmood, Abdur Rahim Mostu Miah, Zainullah, Mohsin Lateef, Adnan Ahmed, Raja Imran, Mubashir and Mohammed Navas.
Hayer Tigers — Muzaffar Majeed (Captain), Nadeem Shah, Mohammed Nasir, Asif Khan, Farhan Mushtaq, Samiullah, Waseem Jutt, Omar Pervaiz, Majid Khan, Ali Malik, Mansoor Ali, Rustam Faiz, Irfan Sagar, Asim Yaqoob and Zahoor Ahmed.
Diriyah Dolphins — Abdul Wahab (captain), Ibrarul Haq, Rizwan Manzoor, Fakhar Ayoub, Obaidullah, Abdulrahman, Malik Fahad, Mudassar Baba, Yassir Hussain, Zainal Hassan, Irfan Malik, Obaid Ali Khan, Omar Pervaiz, Kashif Bilal and Umer.
Dirab Lions — Nasir Abbasi (captain), Faisal Khan, Jabbar Hussain, Saqib Saleem, Hassan Javed, Umar Rana, Sulaiman Khan, Zia Khan, Syed Adeel, Ijaz Khan, Kausar, Abubaker Ghafoor, Yassir Ghafoor, Imran Faisal and Majid Bashir.
Al-Majma'ah United — Raja Ejaz (captain), Kamran Hadi, Syed Usman, Waqas Riaz, Asif Butt, Fahad Mughal, Syed Amjad, Sunil Kulai, Mazhar Tuhin, Zeeshan Butt, Yasif Ali, Yassir Naik, Shams Ul Islam, Atif Hussain, Aneesh.
Babar thanked RCA Patron in Chief Prince General Dr. Abdulaziz Bin Nasser Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud for his contribution in the promotion of cricket in the Kingdom. RCA executive committee members and umpires were appreciated for their efforts and contribution. Abbasi briefed about the playing conditions of the tournament.
