‘Prophet Mohammed's parents were brought to life after their death'
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 20 - 01 - 2012

BEWARE of fabricated Ahadith (Part 8)The Muslim nation is different from others as they follow original and authentic sources. They always go by the Prophetic sayings that had a chain of authentic narrators who passed it down to their successors in its true form without any mingling of impurities.
Abdullah Bin Mubarak (may Allah have mercy on him), a famous scholar of Hadith, said, “This Ummah is different to me, as it has established chain of narrators (Isnaad) and Isnaad is from the religion (Islam) and if there would have been no chain of established narrations – people would have said whatever they wanted to say!”
Fabricated and Ahadith with weak authority are commonly used by those speakers and writers, who do not have complete knowledge of Islam. However, one should be very careful in conveying the message of Allah or His Prophet (peace be upon him). The seriousness of this issue can be viewed from the verses and the Ahadith below Allah said, “And if he Muhammad (peace be upon him) had forged a false saying concerning Us (Allah), We surely would have seized him by his right hand (or with power and might). And then We certainly would have cut off his life artery (aorta). And none of you could have withheld Us from (punishing) him. (Qur'an, Al-Haqqah: 45-48)
For all those who give unauthentic statements about the Prophet (peace be upon him), then he has clearly said, “Whoever tells lies about me, let him take his place in Hell.” (Bukhari and Muslim)
In another narration the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “Whoever narrated a Hadith from me knowing that it is false, then he is one of the liars.” (Muslim)
Let's ponder upon another fabricated saying: The Prophet Mohammad's (peace be upon him) parents were brought to life after their death in order to save them from Hell, and Allah, the Almighty has given this opportunity to the Prophet's (peace be upon him) parents. They were brought back to life so that they could believe in Him after which they died again. A large number of scholars have deemed this Hadith as unauthenticated and fabricated.
Imam Ibn Taymiyah was asked about this saying and he said, that it has not been authenticated by any Ahl Al-Hadith. In fact, it has been considered as a lie as it has not been mentioned in any recognized Sahih Sunan or Musnad or any book.
In Awn Al-Ma'bood Fi Sharh Sunan Abi Dawud by Sharaf Al-Haqq Azeemabadi most narrations about the Prophet's (peace be upon him) parents being made alive in order to believe in Him are all lies. Had it been true, great attention and care would have been paid to its transmission, since it contains two miraculous acts; bringing the dead back to life and believing after death. The narration of such an event would have take priority, but since there has been no trustworthy chain of narrators, it has been declared false. The scholars of Hadith have unanimously agreed on it being false.
Ibrahim Al-Halabi and Ali Al-Qari, well-known scholars, have explicitly explained that the parents of the Prophet (peace be upon him) have not been saved from Hell. (Sharh Al-Fiqh Al-Akbar')
However, there are some authentic Ahadith about the parents of the Prophet (peace be upon him). Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated, that the Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him) said,“I had sought Allah's permission to allow me to beseech forgiveness for my mother, but He did not allow me to do so, and I sought His permission to allow me to visit her grave and he allowed me to do so.” (Sahih Muslim,976)
In another Hadith Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated, a man asked the Prophet (peace be upon him) “O Messenger of Allah, where is my father?” The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “In the Fire.” When the man left, the Prophet (peace be upon him) called to him and said, “My father and your father are in the Fire.” (Sahih Muslim, 203)
Ibn Masud narrated, that the two sons of Mulaykah came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) and said: “Our mother used to show respect to her husband and affection to her children…” and they mentioned something about the guest, … but she buried alive an infant daughter in the Days of Ignorance.” The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “Your mother is in the Fire.”
They turned away with expressions of pain clearly visible on their faces. The Prophet (peace be upon him) called them, and they returned with the expressions of pleasure on their faces, in hope that something might have changed. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “My mother is with your mother.” (Musnad Ahmad, 3598)
This clearly shows that those who die without any belief in Allah will be in the Fire and they will not get any benefit on account of their relatives.
