An extreme cold wave is likely to hit the Kingdom for five days starting Friday, the Presidency of Meteorology and Environment (PME) said on Wednesday. It said the weather will be extremely cold in the northern parts of the Kingdom with the possibility of snowfall on Al-Lawz Mountains in Tabuk. The forecast indicated that the temperature in areas in the central parts of the Kingdom will be under four degrees Celsius and the Eastern Province will have temperatures of between six and nine degrees Celsius. In the western parts of the Kingdom, it is expected that the minimum temperature in Madina, the Makkah highlands and Asir will be less than eight degrees Celsius. In Al-Baha, the temperature is likely to be four to six degrees Celsius, with active surface winds of 40 km/h, the PME said.
