JEDDAH: Light to heavy showers hit several parts of the city Thursday. A Presidency of Meteorology and Environment (PME) report in the morning said rain and thunderstorms are likely to lash Makkah region on Friday and Saturday. There will also be a sharp fall in the day temperatures in Jeddah on Friday with the maximum of 30 degree C and minimum 19 degree C. It will further go down on Saturday by a degree, the PME said. According to a PME official there are chances of rain over Makkah and Madina and coastal cities and highlands and over Asir, Al-Baha extended to Hail, Al-Jouf and Northern Border regions with wind blowing at a speed of 15 km to 40 km per hour. “There are also chances of rain over central and eastern parts of the Kingdom, while increase in temperatures continues along the western sector with fresh wind and reduced visibility in several areas,” said the official. All through Thursday the skies were cloudy in the west and southern areas of the Kingdom.
