Awad Bin Eid Al-Balawi, director general of Border Guard, inspected a number of department installations in the Makkah region during the past two days, including those in Al-Laith and Qunfudah. During his tour, Al-Balawi was accompanied by Maj. Gen. Ahmed bin Saleh Al-Zahrani, assistant commander of the Border Guard in the Makkah region, and other senior officers. "The Border Guard chief inspected activities at coastal centers as well as preparedness of naval patrols and search and rescue units," a senior official said. He also met with Border Guard officers and inquired about their various requirements. "Maj. Gen. Al-Balawi honored a number of officers in appreciation of their excellent services and outstanding security contributions and achievements," the official said. The Border Guard chief had his iftar with his department officers. He praised the officers for their diligent efforts to defend the Kingdom's borders and security. He also urged officers to extend all services to visitors of coastal areas, especially those in trouble, during Eid Al-Fitr holidays. "All search and rescue units in the coastal areas must be ready to carry out their mission in its full form," the director general told his officers.
