Muhammad Muafaa, director of the Ministry of Labor and Social Development's Jazan branch, said begging was a major problem during the holy month of Ramadan. Man detained over daughter's death RIYADH — Police in Al-Kharj governorate are currently investigating the death of a 4-year-old girl in mysterious circumstances inside her family home. Teams from the forensic department arrived at the location and collected evidence. Police detained the father for questioning as he is the lone suspect. Police said they will issue a statement explaining the girl's death once they receive reports from the forensic department. Wife blames man for infant's death TAIF — Police are investigating claims by a woman in Taif that her husband abused her and killed their infant. Police detained the husband, who denied the claims saying that he was not responsible for the death of the infant. He said the infant fell on the floor during a quarrel between him and his wife. The five-month-old infant arrived at a local hospital with serious injuries, including internal bleeding in the head. The family had told the hospital staff that the infant had fallen on the ground, but the hospital management contacted the police to investigate a possible criminal link. The infant died minutes after arrival. Police said that the woman had previously been admitted to the same hospital with injuries due to domestic violence. Nurse killed, 13 others hurt in accident MADINAH — A Filipino nurse was killed in a car accident and 13 others injured when their minivan overturned on the Madinah-Makkah highway. The minivan, carrying 15 passengers, lost control, crashed into the side barrier and overturned. Paramedics from the Saudi Red Crescent arrived at the location and provided assistance to the injured victims, who sustained light to medium injuries.
