BURAIDAH — The Ministry of Labor and Social Development issued violation warnings against a total of 80 stores in the telecommunication sector. Director of the ministry's Qassim branch Turki Al-Mani said the ministry ran an inspection campaign to ensure that the telecommunication sector has complied with its plan to Saudize 50 percent of the jobs. "The inspectors reported 28 stores were shut down for their violation and lack of adherence to the plan. The inspectors also issued 52 warnings against different stores. The campaign visited a total of 168 stores in Buraidah, Unaizah, Al-Ras, Al-Badie, Al-Mathnab, Al-Bikairiyah," said Al-Mani. He said businessmen and establishments must abide by the ministry's orders and start employing Saudi men and women. "The ministry made sure by partnering with several training institutes that there are qualified and experienced Saudis ready to work in the telecommunication sector and replace non-Saudis. There are Saudis qualified to work as mobile repair technicians as well as customer service and sales management employees," said Al-Mani. He said business owners have no excuse not to employ Saudis and follow the ministry's Saudization plan. "Business owners should visit the ministry's Nitaqat portal (https://www.taqat.sa) to post job offers so Saudis can apply. The ministry will not be lenient with violators and business owners must take this seriously, otherwise they may face harsh consequences," said Al-Mani.
