Al-Jubeir Meets with his Bangladeshi Counterpart

Minister of Foreign Affairs Adel Bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir met here Sunday with his Bangladeshi counterpart Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali.
In a press statement following the meeting, Al-Jubeir said that the visit of Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wazed to the Kingdom comes within the framework of consultation and coordination between the two countries to promote relations in a number of areas, referring to the desire of both countries to deepen ties in the security, military, economic and political fields.
He said that the Kingdom looks forward to build strong ties with the friendly Republic of Bangladesh, which has a history of cooperation and coordination with the Kingdom, citing that Bangladesh was the first country to join the Islamic military alliance to fight terrorism and extremism.
He added that the Kingdom appreciates the Republic of Bangladesh, pointing out that Bangladesh has strong ties with the Kingdom, and has always been supportive with the Kingdom in the international and regional forums.
Al-Jubeir indicated that the agreement that was signed today specializes in the field of political consultation, in order to create a mechanism for consultation and coordination between the two countries.
The meeting was attended by a number of officials.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh's Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wazed received at her guest residence here earlier Sunday Minister of Finance Dr. Ibrahim Al-Assaf in the presence of Dr. Adel Bin Zeid Al-Turaifi, minister of culture and information, the official accompanying the visiting delegation.
In a statement to SPA following the meeting, Al-Assaf said the meeting dealt with economic relations between the Kingdom and Bangladesh, including the activity of the Saudi Development Fund, the potentials of mutual investments in Bangladesh in addition to the role being played by the Bangladeshi workforce in the Kingdom as a positive tool of the Bangladeshi economy through their financial remittances.
He said the Bangladeshi Prime Minister is keen to attract Saudi investments in Bangladesh through the facilities being offered by her government to Saudi investors.
Sheikh Hasina received separately today Chief of General Intelligence Khaled Ali Humaidan. During the meeting, they discussed issues of common interest in the security and intelligence fields.
She also met with Assistant Minister of Defense Muhammad Al-A'ayesh. They discussed issues of common interest in the military fields.
Sheikha Hasina received the Advisor at the Royal Court Yasir Al-Rumayan. The meeting discussed promising investment opportunities in Bangladesh.
She later received Minister of Labor and Social Development Dr. Mufrej Bin Saad Al-Haqbani. They discussed issues concerning Bangladeshi workers in the Saudi market. – SPA
