Riyadh hospital appreciates nurses by marking international week program
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 31 - 05 - 2016

Al Imam Abdulrahman Al Faisal Hospital, here. The hospital opened in 2012; and it aims to promote health and community service by giving safe, high quality health care while keeping pace with the latest scientific developments.
Situated in the south of Riyadh, the hospital held its third year celebration for the International Nurses Week Program with the theme: "Nurses: A force for change: Improving the Health Systems' Resilience."
Nurses, who are doing a yeoman service here after making many singular sacrifices, all over the world are to be remembered for what they do best — saving lives. They bear the hardships of the profession of being present day and night despite being yelled at with patience that should be appreciated and rewarded.
That's why Al Imam Abdulrahman Al Faisal Hospital holds a day that recognizes their services to humanity. Organized by Ms. Frencel Hannah Doton (Nurse Educator) for the past three years, with the help of the Nursing Office, the organizers launched the very first sports-festival, which promoted camaraderie, creativity, motivation and inspiration to do their job well and foster teamwork. The event consisted of throw ball, badminton, Miss Imam 2016 beauty pageant (Ms. Victoria Angelyne Paho), quiz bee, debate, and the poster-making contest.
With the assistance of Dr. Majed Abdulhadi Al Magrabi (assistant hospital director) and Ms. Saliha Mohammad Al- Naami (program head & patient education), the awarding ceremony took place recently with the awards given to the Best Area for the year 2016; Female Surgery Ward and the Best Nurse 2016. Ms. Lovely Campeña (from Female Surgery Ward) and Ms. Jestin Ann Thomas (from Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) were awarded. Poster making champion was the Emergency Department and the highlight of the program, the Food Preparation Competition was won by the Labor/Delivery Department as judged by the visitors from the Ministry of Health.
It was delightful to hear such positive news, most especially about the institution concerned that appreciates the hard work of the nurses. — SG
