The Ministry of Agriculture has issued a circular to animal and agricultural quarantines to ban the Kingdom's exports of vegetable products planted in open areas affiliated to the Ministry in all Saudi land, sea and airports from Sept. 17, 2012. The circular was issued based on Cabinet's 2007 decision, no. 335, aiming at rationalizing the usage of water in agricultural fields all over the Kingdom. In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Khalid Bin Mohammed Al-Fihaid, Acting Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry for Livestock Affairs, pointed out that the decision will be carried out within the prescribed period, especially since the Council of Saudi Chambers has been informed to circulate the ban directives to all workers in the field of vegetable production and trading.
