Hyderabad Sharks, Hala School win in MCH League

JEDDAH — Hyderabad Sharks and Hala International School were among the teams that came out on top in the 5th week matches of the MCH Afternoon League here.
Hyderabad Sharks edged Saudi German Hospital by 10 runs. Hyderabad put on a fighting score of 210 for 5 in 20 overs with Mohamed Raziuddin scoring his first century (108 not out) of the league in 66 balls. Athar (23) gave him good support. Waqas took 2 for 38. In reply, Saudi German fought valiantly but fell 10 short of the target ending at 200 for 5 in 20 overs. Taqi Ur Rahman scored a stylish 89 in 55 balls. Useful contributions came from Waqas (36) and Sabten Shah (36). Imran, Taher, Zahid and Ather took a wicket each.
Hala International School trounced Peeran XI by 99 runs. Hala scored 244 for 5 with Mohsin Mirza leading from the front with 66. Tariq Jamal added 26, Zain 42, Jehanzeb 31 and Safiuddin 30 not out. In reply, Peeran XI was all out 145. Raheem top scored with 51 and Bilal hit 26. Hassan took 3-23, while Safi (2-28), Wasif (2-25) and Feroz (2-22) also bowled well.
Peeran Warriors downed Old Students by 30 runs. Peeran Warriors scored 200 for 7 with valuable contributions down the line from Farooq (66), Aqeel (54), Rashid (29) and Imtiaz (20). Asif, Yasir and Ameen picked up 2 wickets each for 35, 38 and 29, respectively. Old Students was bundled out for 170 as Tariq Butt scored 55 and Atif 58. Shahid and Waqas claimed 3 wickets each, while Aqeel chipped in with 2.
ICAD surprised AJA by 4 wickets. AJA was restricted to 152 for 7 with Hasan Raza taking 2-20 and Rizwan 2-18. Abbas (26), Rizwan (20), Imran (35) and Umar (30) were among the runs. ICAD chased the target in 18.4 overs reaching 156 for 6 with Mohsin Raza scoring an aggressive 72, Munawar 25 and Chand 21. Once again Dr. Abdulrahman Khaleel took 3-17 but his efforts went in vain.
In the 4th week action, ICAD made Hyderabad Sharks bite the dust with a 7-wicket win. Hyderabad Sharks was sent packing for 174 in 19 overs with valuable contributions from Fazal (30), Zafar (24), Arif (21) and Aamir (20). Hasan with 3-37 and Ashiq 2-26 bowled a tight line and length. In response, ICAD reached the target of 175 for 3 in 18.3 overs. ICAD skipper Mohsin Raza scored an unbeaten 116 of 70 balls. Waqar added 32.
Peeran Warriors beat Jeddah Shaheen by 49 runs. Peeran Warriors put on 207 for 3 with Hafiz (62) and Farooq (54) notching up half centuries. Khalid took 2-36. In reply, Pak Shaheen was bundled out for 158. Mubashir (56) top scored while Hussain (39), Abdullah (30) and Shoukath (20) chipped in with useful contributions. Waqar, Faisal and Afridi took 2 wickets each.
In another match, Saudi German Hospital cut Old Students down to size with a 36-run win.
In the 3rd week matches, AJA XI tied its match against Old Students thanks to a stupendous effort (5-27) by Dr. Abdulrehman Mussarat Khalil. Hala International School beat Peeran Warriors by 11 runs in the other tie.
