AAJ, Hala, JS, SGH record big wins

JEDDAH — AAJ, Hala International School, Jeddah Shaheen (JS) and Saudi German Hospital (SGH) recorded big wins in the 2nd week matches of the MCH Afternoon League sponsored by My Care Hala and organized by JCA.
AAJ recorded a 48-run win over Peeran XI, Hala International School trounced Old Students by 67 runs, Jeddah Shaheen thrashed Hyderabad Sharks by 45 runs and Saudi German Hospital downed Peeran Warriors by 43 runs.
AAJ posted 239-3 in 20 overs as Umar Awan scored a brilliant century — 123 runs in 53 balls with 17 fours and 6 six. He got good support from Sajjad, who hit 71 off 50 balls with 9 fours and 1 six. They put on 170 runs partnership for the opening wicket. Malik took 2-41.
In reply, Peeran XI gave a good fightback but ended at 191-5 with notable contributions from Ehtisham (52 — 8 fours and 1 six), Nasir (42 — 2 fours and 3 six) and Malik (28). Umar Awan claimed 2-30.
Hala School tallied 213-7 through fighting innings by Shafi Uddin (31), Mohsin Mirza (39) and Zeeshan (31). However the top score was 42 extras for which Old Students had to pay heavily. Hasnain took 2-28, Asif 2-44 and Yasir 2-30.
In reply, Old Students were bundled out for 146. Manzoor made 30, Yasir 31 and Afzal 23. Faizan bowled a tight spell taking 3-9 and was supported by Feroz (2-15). Shahzaib and Shafiuddin got one wicket each.
Jeddah Shaheen put on an imposing 270-5, thanks to in-form batsman Saif who scored his second consecutive century of the league — 106 in 40 balls with 14 fours and 5 sixes. He received valuable support from Mohamed Ilyas (55 in 24 balls) and Faisal (35).
In reply, Hyderabad Sharks started confidently with Raziuddin top scoring with 57 off 34 balls with 6 fours and 2 sixes. Taher smacked 48 in 24 balls with 7 fours and 2 sixes and and Zafar contributed 21. But tight bowling by Mubashir (3-49) and Karam (2-28) restricted Hyderabad Sharks to 225-8.
Saudi German Hospital scored 236-8 as Waqas blasted his way to 82 in 30 balls with 9 fours and 6 sixes. Hassan hit 35 (2 fours and 1 six), Ali 46 (6 fours and 2 sixes) and Taqi 23. Faisal, Imtiaz and Waqas took 2 wickets each.
In reply, Peeran Warriors was bowled out for 193 with only Taher scoring 86 in 32 balls with 5 sixes and 9 fours. Imtiaz contributed 27. Huzaifa took 3-44 and was well supported by Irfan (2-21).
