Published in The Saudi Gazette on 10 - 04 - 2016

THE Ministry of Social Affairs in the Makkah Region honored Bupa Arabia for Cooperative Insurance, pioneer in social affairs and orphan care, during the Arab Orphan Day organized by the ministry under the patronage of Prince Khalid Al Faisal, advisor to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques at the King Faisal Convention Center in King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah.
On behalf of Governor of Makkah Province, Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Jalawi, Deputy Governor of Makkah Province for security affairs presented the honorary shield to Tal Hisham Nazer, CEO at Bupa Arabia, with the presence of Eng. Ali Sheneamer, CCO at Bupa Arabia, officials from the ministry and those keen on the support of orphan care in the Kingdom.
Tal Nazer expressed his gratitude for this honoring that reaffirms the leading role of Bupa Arabia in presented top-of-the-line healthcare services to orphans that hold a special place on the hearts of the whole community. Nazer affirmed that this honoring is a strong motive for Bupa Arabia to continue the walk of giving and excellence in supporting social responsibility programs and caring for orphans in the Kingdom.
Nazer explained that the honoring comes in the framework of a series of awards and accomplishments that have been attained by Bupa Arabia recently in the field of social responsibility, amongst them in 2014 being the Best CSR Impact Initiative which representatives how impactful an initiative was on members of the society; and the second for Best CSR Integrated Organization which focuses on how to activate and executive a fully integrated CSR program, assuring the leading role and unique efforts in supporting CSR programs in Saudi Arabia.
Bupa Arabia also gained ground for two consecutive years (2013 and 2014) by being awarded Best CSR Initiative in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for free coverage of orphans that was announced by International Finance magazine, in addition to more successes such as signing with the National Commercial Bank to provide health insurance services to orphans alongside raising the rate of special needs employed at Bupa Arabia by 250% during 2015.
Nazer said since 2011, Bupa Arabia has designed specialized programs that are catered to serve the whole community, especially when we began developing a program to cover approximately 3,000 orphans registered with the Ministry of Social Affairs. In 2014, Bupa Arabia expanded the services to coverage 46 orphanage houses across the Kingdom, providing a network of hospitals in 13 cities."
"In 2015, Bupa Arabia raised the coverage for orphans to SAR500,000 annually, including many services such as regular visits to the orphans, consultations, general checkups, in addition to an initiative whereby all the orphans in the Kingdom are visited by Bupa Arabia to seek the top 10 obese cases that require quick attention to help them," Nazer added.
Since the beginning of implementing insurance program for orphans, Bupa Arabia has successfully been able to provide approximately 64,030 services, with 258 exceptional cases that are not covered under insurance. The company will remain moving forward in 2016 for the 6th year in a row to provide exceptional services and coverage for orphans under Bupa Arabia's Corporate Social Responsibility program, in addition to continue studies to devise programs that would also cover the orphans at foster families.
