Contestants show their skill at Area 32 annual speech contest

In this season of contests within the Toastmasters fraternity, Area 32 conducted its annual speech contest last week in the Community Hall at Al Muhawis Compound in Al Khobar.
A total of 32 speakers from four clubs: Oasis Toastmasters Club, Wisdom Toastmasters Club, Panorama Toastmasters Club and MDH Mohammed Al Dossary Hospital Toastmasters Club participated in the contests.
The speech contests were organized in four categories, namely International speech, Table Topics Speech, Humorous Speech and Evaluation Speech. All of the participants had moved to participate in the Area 32 annual speech contests after winning contests conducted earlier by their respective clubs.
Abdul Fettah Ennayal won the first place in International Speech contest, Alok Kumar and Afsana Rahman were adjudged second and third place winners.
In Table Topics speech contests, where the speakers delivered two-minute impromptu speeches, Shiraz Mehdi Syed was adjudged first, while Alok Kumar and Mohammed Nisar won the second and third places respectively.
In Humorous speech contest, where speaker after speakers regaled the audience, Mohammed Abdul Saleem got the first prize whereas Mohammed Anas Ghayas was adjudged second place winner and Azza Essawy won third prize.
In Speech Evaluation contest, where speakers provided constructive feedback on the speech by a test speaker, Shiraz Mehdi Syed won first place, whereas Afsana Rahman and Frances Irene Quino won second and third places respectively.
The first and second place winners in all of the four categories will participate in Division J Annual Conference, which will be held on March 18, 2016 at Ronza Rose Sea View Hotel.
The Area 32 Director, a very senior toastmaster, Abdul Waheed Yousuf Syed who made painstaking efforts to organize the event welcomed the toastmasters and guests at the event. He briefed them about the achievements made by the clubs in the Area during the year. He urged the presidents and senior members of the clubs to continue their efforts in nurturing the talents within their clubs.
The event was ably anchored by a young toastmaster, Mohamed Aamir Hussain, who was assisted by four contest masters; Rajan Gangadhran, Mohammed Hasanuddin Khan, Parag Patil and Dr. Forizuddin Ahmed. Another experienced and well known toastmaster, Akanke Abdul Khaaliq, was the chief judge who was assisted by a team of experienced judges.
One of the highlights of the event was the keynote address by Krishna Kumar who shared motivational stories with the audience. Past District 79 Governor, Nazeer Gazaq Qaseem was the chief guest of the event. The event was attended by a large number of current and past Division and Area Directors/Governors and other dignitaries including, DTM Shaikh Shakil Anjum, DTM Jolly Kollamparambil, DTM Abdul Gafoor, Pravin Mankar, Prakashan Palakkadavath, Naufal D.V., DTM Sadia Irfan Khan, DTM Irfan Iqbal Khan and others.
Division J Director, Moosa Koya addressed the audience and expressed his satisfaction and happiness over the performance of the clubs in all of Areas under Division J.
