KFSH Blues faces Lahore Lions for SAIB crown

The final line-ups in Al-Kharj, Huraymala and Hayer Leagues are set following thrilling semifinals in the RCA SAIB Cricket Tournament here.
This tournament is sponsored by Saudi Arabian Investment Bank (SAIB) and organized by Riyadh Cricket Association (RCA).
In the 40-over Al-Kharj League, KFSH Blues outclassed Pak Shaheen by 6 wickets. Pak Shaheen won the toss and elected to bat first. Pak Shaheen started well but wickets started falling at regular intervals with the introduction of left-arm spinner Iftikhar Ali. Pak Shaheen was all out for 255. Abdul Qadir top scored with 62, while Abdul Waheed added 42. Other notable contributions came from Faisal (33), Ishaq (30), Ibrar (26) and Aziz (21). Ali was the wrecker-in-chief as he claimed 5-30 in his 8 overs.
Saqib Saleem chipped in with 2 wickets, while Raja Gulraiz and Syed Usman bagged a wicket each.
Chasing a modest target, KFSH Blues openers started carefully and provided a solid foundation. Ayaz Mohammed remained unbeaten on 85, while Nasir Abbasi hit 34, Munawar Shafi 66, Khurram Baig 25 and Waqas Riaz 20. Ateeq picked up 2 wickets, while Abdul Waheed and Faisal scalped one wicket each. Man of the Match: Iftikhar Ali.
The second semifinal saw Lahore Lions beat Lahore Badshah by 3 runs. Lahore Lions posted 302. Sami was the top scorer with 88. Fahad (68) and Nawaz (55) also played well. Imran Khan took 4 wickets and Imran Ali 3.
Lahore Badshah fell short by 3 runs. Usman blasted 68, Fahad Munir (59) and Yassir Maqbool (51). Mansoor and Muzaffar clinched 3 wickets each and Nawaz 2. Man of the Match: Sami
In the Huraymala League T20 Tournament semifinals, KFSH Green thrashed Pak Eagles by 6 wickets. Pak Eagles was restricted to 140-8. Altaf hit 55. Tahir and Mansoor picked up 2 wickets each, while Adnan, Suhail Bakhshi and Safdar got 1 each. KFSH Green achieved the target in 13.4 overs. Suhail Lateef scored 52, Kausar 44 and Suhail Bakhshi 25. Zubair scalped 3 wickets. Man of the Match: Suhail Lateef.
In the second semifinal, Super CC downed Riyadh Warriors by 63 runs. Super etched 199-6 with Fahad scoring 52, Rashid Mirza 38 and Waqas 34. Shakeel claimed 3 wickets. Warriors could manage only 136, in reply. Babar picked up 4 wickets, while Rashid Mirza and Mudassir trapped 2 each. Man of the Match: Rashid Mirza.
In the Hayer League T20 Tournament semifinals, Riyadh Fighters PPF thumped PTI CC by 6 wickets. PTI posted 183-9. Sajjid claimed 3 wickets and Qaiser 2. Riyadh Fighters achieved the target in 18.2 overs. Jahangir scored 86 and Qaiser 58. Man of the Match: Jahangir.
In the second semifinal, Watan Pal CC edged Lahore Badshah Green by 2 wickets. Lahore Badshah Green scored 154. Abdul Quraish and Abdul Raheem scalped 3 wickets each. Watan Pal was home in 18.3 overs. Abdul Raheem scored 51, Khaista 41 and Sulaiman 33. Man of the Match: Abdul Raheem. — SG
