Haider, Samir and Ali light up JPL with tons

Samir, Ali and Haider lit up the sixth week of action in the JPL Asaduddin Owaisi Cup 2016 with centuries here recently.
The tournament is sponsored by Dream India Group, Mumtaz Sports Academy, Al-Wafaq Al-Shaheqa Group and Qatar Airways Jeddah. B-Cola, Halwani Brothers and Khind Electronics are co-sponsors of this event, which is organized by Jeddah Premier League (JPL) under the umbrella of Jeddah Cricket Association (JCA).
Rising Star, batting first, was bowled out for 83 in 13.2 overs. In reply, Friends reached 87-5 in 12.3 overs. Friends won the match by 5 wickets. Salam was named the Man of the Match for 36 runs and 2 wickets.
In the 2nd match, ICC posted 142-7 in 15 overs. Jeddah Strikers was restricted to 108-9 as ICC won the match by 34 runs. Abdul Raheem was adjudged the Man of the Match for 72 off 49 balls.
The third match saw Azizia Deccan Royals put on 117-8 in 15 overs. In reply, Super Stars could score only 79, thereby losing the match by 38 runs. Arif was declared the Man of the Match for taking 4 wickets.
Gulbarga, batting first, made 145-7. Warangal CC could score only 106-7, handing the latter a 39-run win. Toufeeq from Gulbarga hit 46 in 17 balls and was named the Man of the Match.
Al-Amri CC scored 171-6 and then restricted Jeddah Strikers XI to 94-7 to win the match by 77 runs. Salah scored 44 off 20 deliveries to claim the Man of the match honors.
Barik ATS posted 222-3. In reply, AIMIM could score only 123-9. Haider of Barik ATS was adjudged the Man of the Match for his knock of 101 in 34 balls.
Halwani Brothers beat Challengers CC by 26 runs. Batting first Halwani scored 130-7 and then limited Challengers to 104-6. Man-of-the-Match Ghulam scored 31 in 14 balls.
Afternoon Session
Mahajar Heroes downed Deccan Youth by 25 runs. Mahajar Heroes made 87-10 in 13.2 overs. Deccan Youth was bundled out for 62 in 13.1 overs. Riyaz was named the Man of the Match for taking 3 wickets.
Khind Electronics humbled EJCC by 77 runs. Khind Electronics made 165-6 and then sent EJCC packing for 88 in 12.4 overs. Samir scored a dashing 113 off 53 balls and was awarded the Man of the Match honors.
Jeddah Jaguars trounced Eleven Brothers by 6 wickets. Eleven Brothers, batting first, notched 135-7. Jeddah Jaguars reached 137-4 in 13.2 overs. Ahmed Ali was the Man of the Match for scoring 43 and taking 1 wicket.
Azizia Deccan got the better of Coastal Gladiators by 6 wickets. Coastal Gladiators posted 82-9. Azizia Deccan scored 88-4 in 10 overs. Ishaq was named the Man of the Match for making 30.
Arabian XI gave KCC a lesson in cricket when it won the match by 7 wickets. KCC made 126-7. Arabian XI chased down the target (127) for the loss of 3 wickets in 13.2 overs. Yahiya claimed the Man of the Match award for making 16 and scalping 2 wickets.
Kingdom Sports thrashed Jeddah XI by 8 wickets. Jeddah XI was all out for 75 in 12 overs. Kingdom Sports Academy Blue scored 77 for 2 in 7.4 overs. Zubair Awarded was named the Man of the Match for scoring 23 and bagging 3 wickets. — SG
