Two men were injured in a fire at a warehouse on Sunday. Taif Civil Defense spokesman Col. Nasser Al-Sharif said the fire broke out in a small clothing and textile warehouse in Shibra Street. Firemen extinguished the fire with the help of the National Water Company who donated 10 trucks of water. The owner of the warehouse and a fireman both suffered from smoke inhalation. They are recovering in different hospitals. 16m amphetamine tablets seized RIYADH — Security authorities have seized a total of 16 million amphetamine tablets over the past three months. Ministry of Interior security spokesman Lt. Gen. Mansour Al-Turki said authorities in the Kingdom seized a total of 22 million amphetamine pills over the past year, with 16 million seized in the past three months. The Border Guards uncovered the latest smuggling operation near the border with Qatar when they arrested a Saudi driving a vehicle from the Kingdom to Qatar with 2 million amphetamine pills. Qatari Border Guards also seized 654,000 amphetamine pills from a Saudi man driving from Qatar into the Kingdom. 8 female teachers hurt in road mishap QUNFUDAH, MAKKAH — Eight female teachers were injured in a road accident when their bus collided with a small car. Makkah Health Affairs Director Ibrahim Al-Mutahami said Qunfudah Public Hospital received the eight injured women after the accident. The women all teach at Qunfudah School and suffered various injuries. The bus thy were riding in collided with a small car near Uhud Bani Zaid Center, injuring all eight women and both drivers. Four of the victims suffered critical injuries. One teacher was later transferred to Al-Nour Hospital in Makkah and another to King Abdulaziz Hospital in Jeddah. 6 violating gas stations closed QUNFUDHA, MAKKAH — The municipality shut down six gas stations on the Qunfudah Expressway for multiple violations. Qunfudah Municipality head Saeed Al-Ghamdi said an inspection campaign was run to ensure that all services offered to consumers are of a good quality and beneficial. The municipality notified the gas stations which had violations that needed to be addressed. It permanently closed two gas stations for not responding to its violation notices, and temporarily closed four other stations. 14 bottles of alcohol seized RIYADH — The Custom Control seized 14 bottles of alcohol tapped to the body of a man trying to enter the Kingdom. King Fahd Bridge Custom Control Director Dhaifallah Al-Otaibi said an official found found 14 bottles of alcohol taped to the man's body underneath his clothes.
