All-rounder Imran makes Al-Kabbani's day

JEDDAH — Jeddah Challengers, Al-Kabbani, Tata Motors, Emper Perfumes, Stara XI and Mercedes Benz emerged winners in the WPCA Morning Tournament here.
Al-Mazroi crushed Cousins XI by 8 wickets. Cousins XI posted 63 with Irfan making 19 and Haider 12. Farhan Patel grabbed 4-13 and Abdullah 2-15. Al-Mazroi reached the winning post (67) for the loss of 2 wickets in 32 balls. Sufiyan scored 32 and Faisal Patel remained unbeaten on 17. Sohail took 2-12.
Jeddah Challengers downed ADI XI by 5 wickets. ADI XI put on 139 for 7 thanks to Nabeel scoring 40, Adeel 20, Ali 20, Ejaz 16 and Fahad 16. Faisal took 3-22. Jeddah Challengers responded with 143 for 5 in 90 balls. Rizwan smashed 70 in 40, Adil 33 and Abu Bakr 13 not out. Azeem took 2-22 and Daniyal 2-24.
Al-Kabbani edged past Universal XI by 3 wickets. Universal XI was bundled out for 91 with Tariq Siddiqui hitting 34 and Shaibi 29. Imran was the pick of the bowlers with 5-13 and Khalilullah took 2-13.
Al-Kabbani struggled even to get to 95. Imran alone compiled a match-winning total of 65 in 30 balls with 14 hits to the fence. No other batsman could cross the double-figure mark with the second highest scorer being Shahzad, unbeaten on 9. Shakeel with 3-38, Tariq Siddiqui 2-15 and Owais 2-17 strived hard to defend the tally.
Tata Motors beat Brasa De Brazil by 14 runs. Tata Motors racked up 169 for 6. Irfan Qureshi scored 27, Faisal 25, Noor Butt 35, Iqbal 16, Zahid 18 not out and Faisal Latif 21 not out. Shahid scalped 3-32 and Wasim 2-23. Brasa De Brazil, in reply, was left stranded at 155 for 6. Umair was the top scorer with 59 in 35 balls as Tahir made 16 and Wasim 15. Afridi Iqbal grabbed 3-35.
Emper Perfumes got the better of Deloitte by 5 wickets. Deloitte, batting first, was bowled out for 158. Owais scored 58 in 31 balls, while Irfan contributed 25 as the two added 86 for the second wicket. Mehboob Shabbir scalped 4 wickets and Usman Amjad 3. Mahi claimed 4 victims behind the stumps.
Emper perfumes reached the target of 159 for 5 in 90 balls. Usman Amjad stroked 34 and Babar top scored with 59 in 39 balls. Farhan grabbed 2 for 34.
Star XI scored a thrilling 3-run win over Hanifa Tigers. Star XI, opting to bat first, plundered 173 for 6 thanks to Omar (84), Rizwan (16), Nadeem (16) and Kaleem (14). Rizwan took 2-22 and Faheem 2-24. Hanifa Tigers could muster only 170 for 7. Requiring 11 runs off the last over, it could make only 7. Umair scored 50, Kashif 22, Faheem 36 not out and Fahad 13. Hasnain took 2-12 and Kaleem 2-43.
Mercedes Benz prevailed over Zamil Cool Care by 8 wickets. Zamil Cool Care was restricted to 142 for 5. Raees remained unbeaten on 36, Zaheer unbeaten on 28, Abdur Rehman 25, Pir Sohail 24. Rashiq P.T took 3-27. Mercedez Benz, in reply, got to 145 for 2. Jibran remained unbeaten on 54 and Ilyas 46 as the two added 108 off 66 balls for the opening stand. Saif Rana scored 22.
