JEDDAH — Health officials seized 32 ton of spoilt food from several markets in the city. Al-Janoob Municipality Director Mohammad Al-Zahrani said the municipality organized an inspection campaign in the city's Al-Janoob area. "The campaign included Al-Rahmaniyah Markets, Al-Dirah Markets, Bagado Markets and other open areas where street vendors operate. The municipality issued violations to 85 kiosk owners. The municipality also seized 62 wooden wagons and 400 stocks where food products where being sold," said Al-Zahrani. He added the municipality shut down 28 kiosks and stores in its campaign. "The sellers did not store the food according to hygiene standards which caused it to spoil and rotten. Some of the sellers had no license and others did not follow the health and safety regulations," said Al-Zahrani.
