He said Saudi Arabia always stood for the safety and stability of Syria. King Salman said this while receiving leaders of the Syrian opposition, who concluded their meetings here late Thursday. "I would like to tell you that Syria is dear to us and our relations with Syria are historical and the Syrian and welfare of the our Syrian brethren is important to us," the King told the leaders. The Kingdom, King Salman said, always stood for Arab unity. "We will continue to work to achieve our goal," he said. On behalf of the assembled Syrian leaders, former Syrian prime minister Riyadh Hijab appreciated the hospitality shown by the Kingdom.
