Philanthropists ask victim's father to drop the case Okaz/Saudi Gazette MAKKAH – A file on the murder of a Saudi youth by a Kuwaiti pilgrim has been referred to the General Court in Makkah. The Homicide Circuit in the Bureau of Investigation and Prosecution (BIP) referred the file to the Court in order for it to issue the Shariah Verdict. The knife murder shocked society as it was committed just two days before Arafat Day. The perpetrator's mother and sister were so distraught that they ended their pilgrimage and returned to Kuwait. In order to establish the facts of the murder the BIP investigators staged a reenactment of the crime at Al-Ma'abidah Police Station. A snacks cafeteria was used to represent the foodstuff shop where the Kuwaiti bought the murder weapon, which was represented by a wooden cane. The alleged killer was then led to the location where he reenacted his crime. According to his rendition of events he was in a car with the victim who provoked him into a fistfight. Enraged, he went to a foodstuff shop where he was shown a selection of knives and bought one of them. He then confronted the victim and stabbed him three times – in the hand, shoulder and the left side of the neck which led to the victim's death. He said he was then assisted by a man in bringing the victim to King Faisal Hospital in Al-Shisha, where all attempts to rescue his life were in vain. When he discovered the youth had died, he ran away from the hospital. A source has told Okaz/Saudi Gazette that philanthropists are now trying to convince the victim's father to drop the case, but there would be no measures before the issuance of the verdict from the General Court. Then matters would become clear. __
