Indian International School Tabuk (IIST) celebrated its Annual Day with all pomp and show recently at the Boys Campus. Hemant Kotalwar, Charge d' Affaires, Embassy of India, Riyadh, was the chief guest. He was accompanied by his wife Mrs. Seema Kotalwar. Mohammed Raghib Qureshi, HOC & Observer IIS Tabuk, CGI, Jeddah and Mohammed Shteyan Al Jehani, supervisor of foreign schools, MOE Tabuk, were the Guests of Honor. IIS Tabuk Scouts accorded the dignitaries a grans Guard of Honor. The program began with recitation of verses from the Holy Quran. Floral bouquets were presented to Kotalwar and all other dignitaries. Principal S. M. Samsuddin welcomed all the attendees and presented the school's annual report highlighting the achievements in the academics, co-scholastic activities, etc. Chairman of Managing Committee Dr. Meraj Ali Khan addressed the gathering and appreciated the overall growth of the school. Both the Guests of Honor spoke assuring their cooperation to the school. A very inspirational speech by the Chief Guest Kotalwar was much appreciated. In his address, he briefed all about the historic importance of Tabuk and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He also advised the gathering, especially students, to be aware of history and acquire complete knowledge in this competitive era. He praised and appreciated the students who brought laurels to the school. Mementoes were presented to the chief guest and the guests of honor. Then CBSE toppers were felicitated by the chief guest, who gave them mementoes and certificates. Boys Section Teacher In-charge Mohammed Israrul Haq presented vote of thanks. Then at 6:10 pm, the cultural fiesta started with a welcome dance. Then Nursery Rhymes were performed. The Tamil dance, Malayalam dance, Hindi dance and Bangara were highly applauded by the audience. Students presented drama and participated in the Urdu Mushiara. The last event was awarding the medals to all A+ graders for their performances in the academic year 2014-2015. The celebration concluded with Saudi and Indian national anthems. — SG
