Center Shawn Horcoff and defenseman Sami Vatanen also scored for the Ducks while Ryan Getzlaf added an empty-net goal with a minute remaining for his first goal of the season. Islanders 5, Coyotes 2: Brock Nelson, John Tavares and Steve Bernier scored in the first 12 minutes of the third period as the New York Islanders beat the Arizona Coyotes. Frans Nielsen scored in the first period for the Islanders while Kyle Okposo had an assist on each of New York's first three goals. Goaltender Jaroslav Halak recorded 31 saves. Martin Hanzal and left-winger Mikkel Boedker scored in the final 4:15 for the Coyotes, while goalie Anders Lindback made 27 saves. Red Wings 4, Senators 3 (OT): Detroit winger Tomas Tatar scored at 2:04 of overtime to give the Red Wings a 4-3 victory over the Ottawa Senators. Tatar found himself alone after an Ottawa turnover and beat goalie Craig Anderson to spoil a Senators third-period comeback. Wingers Dylan Larkin, Gustav Nyquist and Riley Sheahan also scored for the Red Wings. Wingers Bobby Ryan, Mike Hoffman and defenseman Chris Wideman replied for the Senators. Red Wings goalie Jimmy Howard picked up the win with 22 saves. Anderson made 33 saves. Canadiens 4, Canucks 3 (OT): Center David Desharnais scored at 3:25 of overtime to give the Montreal Canadiens a 4-3 win over the Vancouver Canucks. Goaltender Jacob Markstrom stopped 32 shots for the Canucks, who squandered a 3-0 lead. Goalie Mike Condon made 23 saves for Montreal. Right-winger Adam Cracknell, center Jared McCann and left winger Daniel Sedin scored in regulation for Vancouver. Left-wingers Lars Eller, Max Pacioretty and Tomas Fleischmann replied for the Canadiens. Panthers 1, Lightning 0: Defenseman Aaron Ekblad scored with just 20.2 seconds remaining in the third period as the Florida Panthers defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning. Ekblad scored in a mad scramble in front of the Tampa goal. Left-winger Jonathan Huberdeau earned an assist. Blues 3, Jets 2: Center David Backes scored two goals and assisted on another to lead the St. Louis Blues to a 3-2 win over Winnipeg, extending the Jets' losing streak to six games. Backes' second goal 4:24 into the second period came when he took a pass from left wing Alexander Steen and flipped a backhander past goalie Michael Hutchinson.
