JEDDAH — Zuhair Fayez Partnership continued its winning streak in Category C after surviving a hotly-contested match with Uricane which was decided through a super tie-breaker after the encounter ended in a 2-2 set and 27-27 score deadlock, while in the Ladies HMX Division, SCTC-Reem showed no mercy after taking all three sets against team Bavaria-Taif. In the B2 Category, Toyota mastered its opponent as it shut out ASTEC-Sky Freight into submission to gain the second win against a loss, while ATP-Mon won against Elaf 3-1 as it dominated the doubles and lost only in the singles as the hostilities entered the second week of the eliminations round in the 7th Al Baik Tennis Tournament 2015 played at the Trio Ranch Country Club here. Zuhair Fayez with Eric Cuyco and Ryan Tiu lost the first set to Reem Riviera-Uricane's Brian Mercado and Roger Ramirez at 5-8 but immediately countered in the second set with Ricky Salazar Jr. taking the singles at 8-6 against Mel Yu to tie the set scores 1-1. In the third set Uricane's Jhun Gonzales and Robert Mayores defeated Taheer Saeed and Ryan Sultan 8-6 to give the go ahead for team Uricane at 2-1 until Nelson Ramos and Abdullah Miswak scored an 8-5 win over Barry and Edison in the fourth set putting the game at 2-2 with a deadlocked score of 27 each, forcing a super tie-break to determine the winner. Zuhair Fayez pair took it with a 12-10 score for the victory and thus registering its third win in as many outings. In the HMX Category of the Ladies Division, Saudia City Tennis Club's Reem Flavored Drink-sponsored team stormed past Bavaria-Taif with a 3-0 match score. Dang Bangit and Edith Espina started the onslaught hammering Rosan Buihon and Divina Calleja into submission to take the first set with an 8-3 win. In the second set Malou Sabio and Hezyl Lozada got stiff competition from Lovelyn Berras and Chrisanel Duano before they could win the set through tie-break at 8-7. Adding the icing on the cake at third set, team captain Nympha Sakay with Sheila Harris coasted to an easy 8-1 win against Dhudz Villanueva and Mary Grace Tango to complete the 3-0 rout. In Category B2, Toyota flexed its muscles to overpower ASTEC-Sky Freight. Ben Consolacion and Romeo Espino led the team in the first set to defeat Abdo and Robert with an 8-3 tally. Nour Panizales ruled the second set singles with a narrow 8-6 win against Raldy Sultan, followed by the third set 8-1 victory of Marlon Ordono and Jun Ordonez against Bernie Soguilon and Jun Tomas. Closing out the fourth set was the 8-2 victory of Noe Catangcatang and Jef over Ricky Salazar Jr. and Gary Bautro for the 4-0 blowout. In another Category B2 match-up, ATP-Mon finally barged into the winning column at the expense of Elaf Group. Winning the first set at 8-3 was the tandem of Lito Mosquera and Joel Chan against Elaf's August Talavera and Ronald Mercado. In the second set singles, Cats Catalan of Elaf dominated Joel Magno with an 8-1 win. A hard-fought third set was won by ATP-Mon's Gilbert Bruno and Jun Marte against Ed Umlas and Lito Zamudio at 8-6, followed by the fourth set win by Erick Pamplona and Ramil Ramos against Rey Tablang and Ricky Salazar Sr. at 8-4 to give ATP-Mon a 3-1 lead and first win in two outings.
