Saudi Gazette JEDDAH — Saudis can now enter Indonesia for 30 days without visas and without paying any fee, according to Indonesian Embassy officials. The decision follows a presidential decree, which allows citizens from 75 countries, including Saudi Arabia, to visit Indonesia for 30 days without visa for official, educational, social, cultural, tourism and business purposes as well as for family visit or transit. "They can get in and out of Indonesian territory through immigration checkpoints at international airports and/or seaports," the decree said. Earlier Saudis and citizens from 63 other countries had to obtain visas on arrival in Indonesia by paying a $25 visa fee. Saudis had to pay SR190 fee for obtaining a visa at Indonesian missions in the Kingdom. Now with the presidential amendment citizens from 75 countries will be allowed to enter Indonesia without paying any fee. An Indonesian Embassy official told Saudi Gazette that visa exemption is aimed at encouraging foreign tourist arrivals and boosting Indonesia's economy. The policy is expected to attract 10 million visitors this year and 20 million by 2019, he said. "The number of tourist arrivals has increased by 16 percent since August compared to 2.9 percent during January-July 2015," the official said.
